Memory Verse: "Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls ." - Matthew 11:29

Sermon Scripture Reading: Isaiah 42:1-3

-THIS SUNDAY'S SERMON-

River Family,

What happens when Jesus does not fit into man's box of who He is and what He is to be doing? This question seems to have a simple answer - Jesus is not fit in to our box of understanding. Our hearts and minds are to be transformed as we learn and grow in the wisdom of Christ. The Pharisees refused to learn and grow. Pride kept them from humbling themselves before Jesus and trusting Him.

Read Matthew 12:1-21. Why did the Pharisees have so much trouble with Jesus? Why did the Pharisees conspire against Jesus in how they might destroy Him? What did Jesus do as they conspired against Him?

Are there areas of our lives in which we prideful, refusing to learn from Christ and grow in His wisdom and grace? Are we willing to humble ourselves before Jesus and learn from Him?

Grace and Peace, Eric

Until He comes, having the mind of Christ, walk together in grace and truth.
