Weekly Scripture Reading: John 15:1-11.
"I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing". - John 15:5
As you go through these weekly readings, we will find them to serve us well in our preparations and approach to Resurrection Sunday (April 4th).
-THIS SUNDAY'S TEXT-
The Revelation is explained in the opening verse – Revelation 1:1 The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to Him to show His servants the things that must soon take place. As we continue our journey through the 7 letters to the 7 churches, it is important for us to understand that these letters are specific letters to specific churches with specific details. The specificity mentioned above explains that God has design and purpose for the local church. It also tells us the importance of a local church’s membership, oneness, unity, togetherness, and responsibility to and for one another. As each church receives a letter, they are to receive it, not as individuals, but as one. Together, they are commended; together, they are corrected; together, they are called.
This week we will focus on the letter to the church of Smyrna (Revelation 2:8-11). Remember as you read this passage to focus on the following questions:
