Weekly Memory Verse: "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen..." - Hebrews 11:1
Sermon Scripture Reading: James 2:14-17
-THIS SUNDAY'S SERMON-
Faith in Christ
2 Corinthians 5:6-7 reads, “So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight.”
“Walk by faith”. What does this mean?
What is faith? (Hebrews 11:1) Where does faith come from? (Romans 10:17) What if faith is absent? (Hebrews 11:6, Romans 14:23) What is the relationship between faith, works, and salvation? (James 2:14-26, Ephesians 2:8-10, 1 Peter 1:3-9)
The outcome and evidence of genuine faith is works and salvation. The purpose of genuine faith, good works, and salvation is that God would be glorified.
May the Lord our God make us strong in faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, so that our lives are lived out in genuine faith in Christ, resulting in good works and salvation to the glory of God forever and ever. Amen.
Grace and Peace,
Eric
