Last Sunday, we saw in Scripture that the holiness of God’s people rests in the sovereignty of God. Hebrews 6:1-3 explains that we need to go on to maturity and this we will do if God permits.
This Sunday we will see that the hope of God’s people rests in the promise of our faithful God. Let us remember - 2 Corinthians 1:20 – For all the promises of God find their Yes in Him (Jesus).

Last week, we saw an accusation that the Jews had become dull in hearing (5:11). Now in Hebrews 6:12, the encouragement to the Jews is to not be sluggish. This term sluggish refers to dull in believing and living.
