-THIS SUNDAY'S TEXT-

The Lord Disciplines & Reproves Those Whom He Loves

This Sunday, we will look to Jesus’ letter to the 7th church – the Church in Laodicea. Jesus told this church that they were neither hot nor cold and that He will spit them out of His mouth. He told the church that they see themselves as rich, prosperous, and needing nothing when the truth is - they are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. There is a great difference between the way the church sees itself and what Jesus says about them. The beauty found in this letter is found in Jesus' counsel and call to the church. May we be humble to hear and head the counsel and call of Jesus Christ. Read Revelation 3:14-22. As you read these verses, remember the questions before us:

  1. What does this letter reveal about the Character of Christ?
  2. What is the Context of this letter?
  3. How does Christ Commend this church?
  4. How does Christ Correct this church?
  5. To what does Christ Call this church?
  6. What are the Consequences should this church obey/disobey Christ?
  7. How does this letter Correlate to us today?

The following passages will be helpful in your time of study: John 1:1-5 Colossians 1:15-19 Isaiah 55 Hebrews 12:6-11

I am looking forward to our time of fellowship and worship this coming Sunday.
