Overcomers - Who are they?

John posses a fantastic question that resonates in many hearts. In 1 John 5:5, it is written - who is the one who overcomes the world? We love stories of victory in which the underdog comes back from the lowest points in life and comes out on top. So, as Christians, we know the world we live in and the effects that our fallen world has on humanity. The world we live in can be brutally painful, deceiving, and demanding. Life in this world tends to suck the very life out of many. The trials, pains, sufferings, and failures of life can leave many hopeless, depressed, & devastated. Many look back on their lives with regret and disappointment because they had been overcome by the world. Therefore, the great question is -

Who is the one who overcomes the world?

Who is it? Who holds the victory? Who has the joyous win in life?

The Bible answers this question:

...the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God (1 John 5:5)

...you are from God and have overcome them, for He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4)

We have great assurance as Christians. As we face life, we do not face it in our own wisdom and power; we face life in Christ! I want to encourage us to spend time reading Romans 8:18-39. May the truth of God's Word encourage your heart. May our hearts be encouraged to know Jesus, trust Jesus, and hold fast to our faith in Jesus. Jesus - the Creator and authority will surely carry His followers through to the end! He is faithful! He is the authority! Close your time reading 1 Peter 5:6-11 and spend time giving thanks to God and worshipping Him.
