Blessed be the LORD, who has not left you this day without a redeemer... - Ruth 4:14
-THIS SUNDAY'S TEXT- Redemption – From Death to Life
For this Sunday’s message, it will be important to read Ruth 4 again.
· As you read, begin to really focus on Ruth 4:9-17.
· Take note of what Boaz says he did in verses 9-10.
· In the later part of verse 10, identify the reasons Boaz takes Ruth to be his wife (hint: follow the “for” and “that”).
Now, here is the important question – How is the dead redeemed? Answer – New Life! Notice the words of the women to Naomi in verses 14-15 – Blessed be the LORD, who has not left you this day without a redeemer, and may his name be renowned in Israel! He shall be the restorer of life and a nourisher of your old age…for your daughter-in-law has given birth to him. Verse 17 reads, And the women of the neighborhood gave him a name, saying, “A son has been born to Naomi.” They named him Obed. He was the father of Jesse, the father of David.
-CONSIDER & MEDITATE-
Wow! How beautiful is redemption? Isaiah tells us of another son who has been born. Read the following passages in further preparation for Sunday’s message:
Isaiah 9:6-7 and Isaiah 7:14
Matthew 1:18-2:2
Ephesians 2
Colossians 1:11-14
PRAYER & THANKSGIVING Spend time rejoicing in our redeemer Jesus Christ. Jesus has passed from death into life, so that we who have faith in Him have been united to Him in His death and life. Our eternal life is found in the redeemer Jesus Christ. Trust Him, worship Him, praise Him, proclaim Him!!! His name – Jesus.
