Samuel - a shadow of Christ. 10/10/21
Scripture Reading: 1 Samuel 7:1-17.
Catechism Question: How and why did God create us? Answer: God created us male and female in His own image to glorify Him.

-THIS SUNDAY'S SERMON-
This Sunday we will continue in 1 Samuel, seeking to better understand "Abiding in the Lord". As you read 1 Samuel 7, take note of all that Samuel does to and for the people of Israel. Write down what Samuel does and consider how Samuel is reflecting the great work of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There are about 5-6 ways in which Samuel serves as a shadow of Christ. For example, in verse 5, Samuel prays for or intercedes for the people of Israel. Read John 17:20, Romans 8:34, and Hebrews 7:23-28. Take note of how Jesus intercedes and prays for His Bride - the church.
