Sardis - The Walking Dead. 3/21/21

Weekly Scripture Reading: John 19:17-37.

Verse of the Week: Christ redeemed us from the curse of the lawny becoming a curse for us - for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree." - Galatins 3:13

As you go through these weekly readings, we will find them to serve us well in our preparations and approach to Resurrection Sunday (April 4th).

-THIS SUNDAY'S TEXT-

This Sunday, we will be looking at the letter written to the church in Sardis. The letter explained, "you have the reputation of being alive, but you are dead." They are then told to "WAKE UP"! How is it that a church can have the reputation of being alive, yet Christ calls them dead? What looks like life in the church, but the church is actually dead? The following passages will be helpful to read in preparation for Sunday:

Ephesians 2 Corinthians 13 James 2 2 Timothy 3

Read Revelation 2:18-29 with the following questions in mind.

  1. In this letter, what do we learn regarding the Character of Christ?
  2. What is the Context of this passage?
  3. How is this church Commended by Christ?
  4. How is this church Corrected by Christ?
  5. How is this church Called by Christ?
  6. What are the Consequences should this church obey or disobey the words of Christ?
  7. How does this passage Correlate to today?

For the month of March, we will be receiving in the Caring Canoe diapers for The Call Ministry. Let's fill up the canoe with diapers!!!

Living the Mission is April 10th

Living the Mission is an opportunity to serve together in our community. Come and serve half a day (morning or afternoon) or all day. Lunch will be provided at noon at The River.

If you, a family member, or a neighbor could use some help in the yard or around the house, contact Jeff Frentz (870-404-9618), Matt Hafer (870-421-4962) or Eric Smeltzer (870-421-4341).
