The Consummation in Christ (completion). 5/1/22

Weekly Memory Verse: "...And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God." - Revelation 21:3

Sermon Scripture Reading: 2 Thessalonians 1:5-12

-THIS SUNDAY'S SERMON-

When we consider consummation in/of Christ, we are talking about the completion or fulfillment brought about through Christ. The one who seated on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." This Sunday, our focal passage will be Revelation 21. As you read this passage, make note of two things: What is being put to an end or put away? What is being replaced and by whom? What is brought in new?

As you read this passage spend time pondering how marvelous and wonderful God is to bring us into such a wonderful everlasting relation with Him. Notice that He and the Lamb dwell with us. He and the Lamb are the temple of the new city. There will be no need of sun or moon in the new city, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb.

What a glorious hope we have in Christ Jesus our Lord! Let us eagerly anticipate the return of Christ and the making of all things new. Come, Lord Jesus, come!

Looking forward to worshipping and growing in Christ with you this Sunday.

Grace & Peace Eric
