"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand." - John 10:27-28
-THIS SUNDAY'S TEXT- Go…Make Disciples…Baptizing Them...Teaching Them...
In preparation for Sunday, spend some time reading and meditating on Matthew 28:16-20.
So far, we've taken into consideration the first three commands given in The Great Commission (Go, Make disciples, Baptize them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit).
Lord willing, this Sunday we will focus our attention on Jesus' fourth command in The Great Commission: Teach them (converts) to observe all that I have commanded you.
As disciples of Jesus Christ, what does faithfulness to His Lordship look like in these troubled times? In what ways have we (potentially) turned our eyes from Christ, to the things of this world? How might we, as His disciples, more diligently submit ourselves to His will and Word? Are there currently things (perhaps, even good things) that are enthroned upon our heart, in place of Christ?
As we consider these things, I look forward to growing with you this Sunday, beloved. Let's ask the Lord to prepare our heart and mind for what He would have for us this Sunday. To Him be the glory in all things.
In Grace, -Jp
-PRAYER & THANKSGIVING- Thank the Lord for providing our youth and adults a wonderful trip to Camp Living Stones. We truly experienced God's faithfulness throughout the week and we give God praise for His wonderful work.
Pray for River's Edge - the youth at The River. Pray that they will be diligent in contending for their faith and the faith of their brothers and sisters in Christ.
Continue to pray for wisdom regarding a future Youth Minister for River's Edge.
