-THIS SUNDAY'S SERMON-

Parenting with the gospel in view

Dear River Family,

I pray that we will continue to be mindful of the marriages within The River Family, and that we will always strive to glorify God in our marriages. Let's continue to pray for marriages and encourage one another to persevere in the wisdom and strength of the Lord in our marriages. Please do not struggle alone. If you are struggling in your marriage, reach out, so that you can be prayed for and encouraged by your brothers and sisters in Christ.

This Sunday, as we continue to focus on gospel living, we will turn our attention to "Parenting with the gospel in view". As with marriage, parenting can bring a number of challenges to the surface. As we look to the Scriptures, we will discover God's purpose in parenting and His instruction regarding godly parenting.

The following passages will be helpful to read in preparation for Sunday:

Deuteronomy 6:4-25 Proverbs 1:8-9, 22:6, 29:17 Colossians 3:21 & Ephesians 6:4

As we pray for marriages, let's pray that we would grow in our parenting. May we steward well the children God entrusts in our hands. And may the Lord be gracious and kind and give our children salvation through Jesus Christ. May our believing children grow to maturity in Christ: confident in their identity as a child of God, joyful and thankful for their salvation in Jesus, bold in their proclamation of the gospel of Christ, and grounded in the truths of God. We have much to pray for and let us be wise and commit ourselves to the wonderful gift of prayer.

Grace and Peace,

Eric
