Scripture Reading: Philippians 2:1-11.
"So that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father." - Philippians 2:10-11
-THIS SUNDAY'S SERMON-
Hey River Family!
I hope this email finds you well. Over the past several weeks we have focused our attention on various attributes of God. So far, we’ve been reminded that He is loving, merciful, gracious, patient, kind, forgiving, and just. Lord willing, this Sunday we will take into consideration the holiness of God. As true and as important as all the other attributes of God are, holiness is the only attribute of God that is continually repeated and celebrated day and night in the throne room of Heaven. What is the significance of that? What does the usage of repetition emphasize? What does it mean for God to be “Holy, holy, holy”? How should the holiness of God radically shape our lives?
As we prepare to gather Sunday, spend some time reading the following passages: -Job 38-42:6 (Within these verses, what point is God making to Job, and to us?) -Revelation 4 (Behold! A window into the throne room of Heaven!) -Isaiah 6:1-7 (Notice here, Isaiah’s response to the holiness of God)
I look forward to growing with you this week.
In Grace, -Jp
