The Lord's Supper

For if we have been united with Him (Jesus Christ) in a death like His, we shall certainly be united with Him in a resurrection like His. -Romans 6:5

-THIS SUNDAY'S TEXT-

Fall is a beautiful time of year. The weather is cooling off; the squirrels are gathering their food; and the leaves are changing colors. While it won't last very long, I love the changing of the color of the leaves. It all happens so quickly. Their dying is such a beautiful process - they change a beautiful orange, red, or yellow; they bring such beauty to tree tops; they fall and litter the ground with such beauty; then, they turn brown and get raked up and burned or mulched up and go back in to the soil.

The scripture tells us that our lives are but a vapor. As quickly as we live, we pass. May our living/dying be as beautiful as Fall. May the richness of the beauty of the glory of Christ show through our lives in our living/dying. But let us rest assured, as followers of Christ, our death has no victory. We are gathered up in Christ Jesus our Lord and presented holy and blameless before our holy, heavenly Father. Bless the Lord oh my soul, and all that is within me bless His holy name, for He has done GREAT things!

-PRAYER & THANKSGIVING-

Thank God for sending His Son Jesus into the world to save and rescue His people from sin.

Thank God for opening the eyes of the blind, the ears of the deaf, and for turning rebellious hearts to Christ.

Thank God for His faithful work in sanctifying His people.

PRAY: God may you stir up in our hearts a joy and thankfulness for all that He has done.
