Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 4:1-12.
"For God, who said, 'Let light shine out of darkness,' has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." - 2 Corinthians 4:6
-THIS SUNDAY'S TEXT-
Please let the power of the Lord be great as you have promised.
Many of us are familiar with Numbers 13; this is when Moses sends 12 spies into Canaan and the spies report back. Read Numbers 13 & 14. Not too many of us are quite as familiar with Numbers 14 – the worst church business meeting ever. I have sat through some REALY difficult church business meetings, but this beats them all. Not only is Israel ready to choose another leader, they want to stone their leaders (kill them) and choose new leaders, new leaders, not to take them forward into the promises of God, but take them back to bondage and slavery in Egypt. (Read 2 Timothy 4:1-5).
As you read Numbers 13 & 14 - take note of the following:
Israel’s poor decisions Caleb’s & Joshua’s abiding in the Lord Moses’ intercession for the people The Lord’s love for His glory and His name's sake as He delivers & promises righteous judgment toward some and steadfast love toward others.
As we have the privilege to look back at these times, let us be in awe of our mighty God and humbly, joyfully, and fearfully walk in obedience to Him, with much thanksgiving and praise on our lips.

One of our many privileges and joys as a church is to teach the upcoming generations the ways and fear of the Lord. We need more folks to help in this area. Please pray, and if the Lord is leading you to learn more about this wonderful opportunity, please contact Tim Vangulick at 870-656-1394.
